Rather than Dickens, I might have selected, oh, Sir Walter SCOTT!!! But nevermind... could have been worse - you could have picked Chaucer, and we'd have to drag ourselves kicking and screaming through olde English...

I am delighted to see that Herstmonceux Castle is *almost* as spectacular as the *original* Hearst Castle, located, as you know, in San Luis Obispo, California...
